As long as people continue to cross that bridge, the train whistles should stay. This is an issue of safety and common sense, and those that choose such a dangerous way to cross the bridge are showing a distinct lack in the common sense department. A foot bridge is a good idea, it'd most likely prevent such crossings, but as to whether or not that's a feasible option, I cannot be the judge. A foot bridge may be costly, I have no idea what the town's budget is, and whether it can be afforded or not. I certainly hope that those who do cross the bridge will realise their own errors and stop now.
