The Joshua Project FREE STORE

The Joshua Project FREE STORE is a volunteer service project intended to assist in the building up of people, providing the basic needs of food and clothing. Everything we receive is on a volunteer basis and is unsolicited. We rely on God for all our needs.

If you are new to the Free Store and would like to use it's services, please follow these few directions. Thank you.

  1. Please sign in on the registry as soon as you enter.
  2. Before leaving please be sure you have filled out a registration card in detail. This will help us help you and others as we continue to grow and expand our services.
  3. If you wish to shop for free clothing or food, please ask for some assistance. Thank you.
You may shop for clothing twice(2) per week
(the clothes are only intended to supplement your wardrobe)
ie: 2 tops, 1 pair pants or dress, 1 pair shoes, one coat.
This is recommended per family member.
(you may request extra for baby clothes)
You may shop for food once(1) per week
  4. If available, you may take free bread every day open.
(Please ask for help; please do not take bread for others)
  5. If you would like to donate clothing, we ask that they come washed and 'wearable'. We are not obligated into taking clothing that is not appropriate to give out. Thank you.

Philosophy of Ministry
The purposes of the Joshua Project Free Store are to establish, maintain, and conduct a practical helping ministry to the needy in and around Hope; to facilitate the effective sharing of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Hope through the good work of it's volunteers. Our primary responsibility as stewards is to facilitate the collection and recieving / distribution of goods in a service of faith and humility. Our service is an expression of our love for God and a reflection of God's love towards the poor. It is not a religious duty or obligation, but a privilege to serve that naturally flows out of our relationship with God.
Philosophy of Operation
The Free Store is operated by volunteer workers in association with Northwest Harvest Church. It is entirely funded through the support of local churches, organizations, and individuals. It does not receive support from any government bodies, nor does it conduct any direct fundraising activities or solicitation of any kind. The free store depends entirely on God to move on the hearts of the people in the community to give out of desire, not compulsion. Tax deductable receipts are available through the church of your choice or Northwest Harvest.
Mission Statement
We believe that God has a special concern for those who cannot care for their own needs. He clearly calls His people to share His concern and express His compassion to the poor and needy. God's heart towards the poor is not one of harshness or judgement, but rather one of mercy, compassion, forgiveness, and help. Scripture tells us to aggressively work to rescue the poor from the oppression of poverty through our good work, and to administer true justice on their behalf, which includes showing mercy and compassion.
